about

At the beginning of the year I wrote a song to support those living with ME/CFS. Yesterday was #MEAwarenessDay ... link to song is in bio

ME/CFS is hugely under funded and under researched post-viral syndrome and it's thought that coronavirus patients will be at a greater risk of suffering from this which doesn’t bode well.
Here's some perspective... Most of the World Will Eventually Resume Normal Life but lock down will not end for those with ME/Chronic Fatigue.

Society is currently experiencing disappointment over cancelled events and celebrations, a loss of identity when unable to work as usual, loneliness at being unable to see loved ones and frustration at being restricted. These are all emotions people with ME/Chronic Fatigue have felt and must deal with on a continual basis.

Those with ME/CFS have suffered the extravagant losses of health, relationships, careers, opportunities, identity and more all while the world carried on without them.

Lockdown with ME/CFS doesn’t consist of music, baking, games, gardening and hobbies. It involves relentless symptoms and unfathomable restrictions. When the rest of the world moves on … #rememberme & #LeaveNoOneBehind

Here are my Lyrics.. which are written from a sufferers perspective.

lyrics

I’ve been broken so I wear a stolen smile,
A smoke screen from the burning fire
I’m so tired of searching for energy
I can’t find the perfect remedy

I have day dreams I’ll know I’ll never see
I can’t wake up who I used to be
My memories are hiding out on me, they’re hiding out on me, out to sea

I’ve got to slow it down

I try my very best to carry on,
But nothing helps and nothing looks wrong
I draw an imaginary line to separate these difficult times
My futures written in disappearing ink,
My body and mind just ain’t in sync
I’ve been kicked down so hard I don’t know why, I don’t know why, I’m hung out to dry

I’ve got to slow it down

Never gonna get back up if I throw in the towel
Never gonna get back up

I’ve got to slow it down
I’ve got to slow it down
