about

I wrote this song when I lived in the Docklands of London in 2004. It stemmed from listening to a Simple Kid track called 'Average Man'..... The line 'so follow the law of the 'Few Who Do'.... was originally 'so follow the law of Average Man'. Ultimately if you want something done then get out there and make it happen... you'll only owe yourself in the very end so it's up to you.

According to a few folks it's the best song I've ever written... but that's not for me to say is it eh. This is the 4th recorded incarnations of this song and it finally has a real banjo!

lyrics

Not For Me

I believe that everybody has a talent inside
I believe in my ability to make you cry
Some do it because they have to
Some do it ''cause they can'
I believe that no body does it better than an Englishman

It's not for me, it's not for me to say
It's not for me, it's not for me to say
Hell, I don't owe anybody,
Hell, I don't owe anybody,
Hell, I don't owe anybody ,but me

I believe that anybody can stand the test of time
I believe in my ability to make you smile
Two wrongs can make a right... if opposites attract
So follow the law of the Few Who Do.... and hey, you'll be on track

It's not for me, it's not for me to say
It's not for me, it's not for me to say

Hell, I don't owe anybody,
Hell, I don't owe anybody,
Hell, I don't owe anybody ,but me

It's up to me, to say
It's up to me, to say
It's up to me, to say
It's up to me, to say
That's Right.
